Let’s play catch up!

Wow, what a month it has been since I have been here to catch you up on everything that’s been happening. All is good! In fact, all is great! Let me take you back and catch you up on the past month or so. Why not?

Training

Training has been going well. I have to be really flexible with my work, life and kid schedule, but it’s working. If I have to miss a workout, I use it as my off day and make it up the next day. I’m training six days a week and can really tell a difference. It has been nice to finally get out on the road bike too. A spin bike can help in many ways, but being out on the road is literally where “the rubber meets the road.” I’ve got eight weeks to go before the Ironman Raleigh 70.3. More miles and hours to go, but it’ll be here soon. Here are some pictures of my training over the last month:

Kids

It has been quite the month with my amazing kids. Spring soccer has been in full swing for them all, Christopher and I have been to Space Camp, Hannah is in Costa Rica as I write, and Julia is well…Julia! The “littles” and I also had a fun trip to the Asheville Pinball Museum this past Sunday. See what we’ve been up to:

So, what else has been happening

Along with work, training and special times with the kiddos, it’s been a fun month of adventures, a little travel and lots of smiles. Our travels took us to an amazing weekend getaway to Wytheville, VA, where we were greeted with 15 inches of snow and no power. I spent Easter with my family in Rutherfordton and enjoyed a beautiful Easter sunrise service at Chimney Rock State Park. At work, I am blessed with opportunity to bring smiles upon kids faces as the company mascot, Champ. It’s so much fun, even though it’s a furry sweat-box. Check out what else has been going on in my world:

As you can see, it’s been quite the month. There are lots of things planned over the next month too, including hours and miles of training, work, a 200+ mile relay race, soccer, triathlon support and planning, a family reunion and many more little moments in between!

How can we fit it all in, you may be asking. Life is short. Why not tri, I say!
